As there are still a few open spots on COOL, we have removed the restriction of 2 office hour spots per student. However, students are still restricted to 1 office hour spot per firm. In fact, showing up for more than one appointment with the same firm would reflect very poorly on you with that firm, so it would not be to your advantage to do so.
COOL will not block students from registering in more than the maximum permitted number of office hours per firm; however, the list of appointments is reviewed on a regular basis. Any student who has booked more appointments than permitted will be given notice to adjust their appointments, but after the deadline passes, appointments will be cancelled for any student who has exceeded the maximum number of permitted appointments.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Hi Laura,
How many office hour slots are we allowed to fill? Is it unlimited, granted they are with different firms?
That’s right. Unlimited number of firms, maximum 1 spot per firm.
Hey Laura,
I am a new DAP student and I would like to know how CPARecruiting Program works. Is it information session for CPA designation or is it for career coaching program? Thanks,
Hi Tao: The CPA recruit that you are seeing many blog posts on is referring to the fall recruitment program for mostly public practice firms and some companies in Industry. This is a very structured process where firms hire students 1 year in advance. Applications for this are due in September for positions starting the following September. I would recommend reading the blog post titled: #CPAFallRecruit2014 – What is it? Should I be involved? This was one of the first blog posts under the category: #CPAFallRecruit2014. I would actually recommend making your way through all of the blog posts in this category as it will give you a sense of the resources available through the summer to help students prepare (ie. events, workshops, coaching, etc.). You can also find information on the gocpabc.ca website here: https://www.gocpabc.ca/cpa-fall-recruit/
