Maybe you just came through Fall CPA Recruiting, recently started DAP or are planning on leveraging your newly acquired accounting knowledge as you move forward with your career progression. Whatever the case may be, getting your accounting career on track during your education is one of the greatest keys to your success! So…a workshop will be delivered Nov 17th from 4:15 – 6:15 pm for this very purpose. In the mean time, here are a few highlights! 1. Don’t carry over negative experiences from the past. Put the past behind you and begin to pursue your next career move with passion.
2. Change your tactics. Learn from your past job search experiences and improve your approach for your next career move. The same approach could end up with the same results.
3. Let others inspire you. Talk to people that have faced the same or similar challenges that you now face and learn from them. Avoid negative conversations and intentionally connect with people that will inspire you.
4. Know the labour market you are approaching. What part of the market is growing and which areas are more robust that others? More growth could mean opportunities for you.
5. Be proactive. Don’t wait for something to fall in your lap. Do not rely solely on job postings. Get focused and get moving.
6. Be strategic. Target work experiences that will meet the criteria needed to complete your Experience Verification process on the way to achieving your CPA designation.
7. Take full advantage of available resources. Sauder has valuable resources through various avenues including the DAP Student Club, Professors, events, workshops and the DAP Career Consultant.
At the workshop these points and others will be presented in detail and with dialogue with you the audience. Hope to see you there. Register through COOL.
Hope to see you there Nov 17th! Best of luck!
