UBC International House will be holding a number of events in January for new international students at UBC which are open for DAP students starting the program this January to attend:

• International Welcome – January 4th, 4-6:30 pm at International House, Upper Lounge, 1783 West Mall (map)
  You will receive the best information about studying as an international student at UBC, your immigration documents and health insurance. Join us for pizza and a chance to meet fellow students and staff who will support you at UBC.

• International Student Orientation – if you can’t attend International Welcome

  If your classes conflict with the orientation session, you can join us for one of our catch-up session at International House. Catch-up session dates are below and registration is not required.

• Phone and Bank Workshop – January 2nd, 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at International House, Upper Lounge, 1783 West Mall (map)
  One of your first task on your “to do” list may be setting up a bank account or getting a cell phone. Join this session for tips on where to go, required documents and an overview of the banking system and cell phone plans in Canada. This session is free and no registration required.
