The Spring Public Practice Recruit (PPR) workshop series continues on March 28th with our Applications workshop, followed by the Interview workshop on May 9th. Both workshops will be offered in a hybrid format, with the option to attend in-person or online. Registration for both workshops is now open on COOL.

  • Monday, March 28th, 4:45 to 6:15 pm – Applications (hybrid format)
    When Spring PPR job postings begin to drop, the competition to land interview begins to create a real buzz among students. Channeling that excitement and emotion into well prepared and specific applications will be your next challenge. With recruiting changing due to health restrictions, it is even more important to make your application count. Come learn how to make an impact with a results-oriented relevant resume and specific cover letters that will prove your understanding of the relevant skills, previous performance, and knowledge of the firms you are pursuing. Discover how to communicate your own personal story, academic success and fit in your new career path as an accountant and aspiring CPA. You can leave this workshop knowing you have the tools to put your best foot forward with each firm you apply to.
  • Monday, May 9th, 4:45 to 6:15 pm – Interviews (hybrid format)
    When PPR firms respond to applications and invite candidates to interview with them, there is always a mixture of excitement and nerves. Whether the interview is by phone, video recording, live video, individual, panel, conversational, structured you will need to be ready for any and every eventuality. Then, as you move on to second level interviews you will need strategies to perform even better than the first phase. Learn how to plan to meet recruiting staff, managers or partners which are all possible during the PPR interviewing process. Be prepared for and make the best of each opportunity by understanding what firms are expecting and how to construct your responses in an impacting way. Then, discover how to leave a lasting impression with your own prepared questions and a closing that will raise their attraction to you and raise their interest in making an employment offer.
