The success of following up truly begins by doing it. To believe it is not enough. Often follow up is the only way to access the low hanging fruit that has grown as a result of your previous efforts to generate success in some area of your job search. Follow up is that added and often critical piece to increase value to your initial action and to protect the investment of time and effort you have already made. A Point of Reference

There are many places throughout our lives that we will refer to when making life decisions. It may be an experience we had, a word of advice from someone we value or an “ah – hah moment” we had about our life and/or career that guides us during the times when choices matter. Employers and interviewers share this philosophy when making hiring decisions. Even after interviewing candidates, hiring managers will still ask for a List of References so that they can speak to people directly about any thoughts, impressions and praise/concerns about the person being considered as a future employee. Ya feel me? – The Human Connection of Job Searching!

“Ya feel me?”, has been used (gone mainstream) in communication enough to be considered ‘language’. The Urban Dictionary describes the usage of this term as, “Usually said after a statement to see if a person understands your perspective.” The whole idea behind this urban slang is to see if a person is connecting with the other person on an idea, action or request.
