Reminder – Careers in Accounting Workshop Series – Your Career Action Plan Workshop on Monday, February 3rd, 5 pm

As reminder, DAP Career Coach, Russell Garrett, will be holding the second workshop in our Careers in Accounting workshop series on Monday, February 3rd at 5 pm.

At this workshop, you will begin to put your plan into action to access the Hidden Job Market, and to engage people in your new career path by learning the value of creating, building and maintaining contacts. See how being connected will add to your success when applying to advertised jobs. Begin setting goals, increase your motivation and start tracking your progress to greater impact your career decisions. Apply the SMART goal setting approach to your career and begin moving forward right away.

As reminder, DAP Career Coach, Russell Garrett, will be holding the first workshop in our Careers in Accounting workshop series on Monday, January 27th at 5 pm.

Come and discover your first steps in identifying your career goal and gaining the focus needed to move forward with you career plan! Then discover the best ways to pursue that goal through research, information and self-evaluation which will lead you to motivation, decision and action! If your plan is not in place, you feel stuck, or if you need to define your goal and plans better. This workshop will get you there.

Registration for this workshop and will be open on COOL until Sunday, January 26th.

We also have a few on-campus coaching appointments open on Wednesday, January 29th. To find available appointments on COOL , select Coaching Appointments from the menu on the left-side of the page, then Request New Appointment. On the next search screen, select Russell Garrett as your coach, but leave all other fields blank to return all available appointments.

A 2020 View

We often use the saying that seeing things with “20-20” vision is seeing clearly in relation to things that are coming or what we are currently experiencing. So is your vision of this New Year clear? Has the fog lifted yet on where your life and career will take you following your DAP experience? With many of you completing the program during 2020-2021, it is important that you see your future clearly, by following some common Canadian idioms like; “keep your head up”, “keep your eyes wide open”, “keep your ear to the ground” and “put your finger in the air” to be aware of what is happening around you and to react strategically to bring success to your career future! Imagining doing all these things at once physically seems awkward (try it) you are fully able to do this mentally and strategically when it comes to generating success in 2020.
