Reminder – Careers in Accounting workshop series continues on Tuesday, October 25th with Workshop 4 (Resumes That Get Employer’s Attention )

As a reminder, we are offering a 7-part workshop series this term, which started on Tuesday, September 20th. This workshop series is comprised of 7 sequential workshops that will take you through each step of the career planning process, corresponding to one or more of our Career Toolkits. Not sure how to get started on the accounting career path? Don’t miss this opportunity for tailored guidance and exclusive tips to start you on your way!

The next workshop in this series will be held this Tuesday, October 25th and will focus on resume preparation.

When the time comes to submit your resume document to a company, you will need it to be in line with the norms of business culture, the labour market you are entering and to meet the expectation of those who will review it.

Watch your resume begin to take shape to fit the business and accounting field including Public Practice Firm Recruiting. See how your resume can stand out through formatting choices, placement of key information and incorporating industry and business terminology into your resume.

Learn about the approach of turning your work, volunteer and extra-curricular experience into expressive bullets that capture results, your skills and the scope of the successes you have brought to your previous roles.

As well, begin preparing your Reference List so it will be ready when a recruiter asks for it following an interview.
