Join this short session with CPABC staff answering rapid-fire pre-submitted and live questions from the audience about the Practical Experience Requirements (PER). No formal overview of the CPA program will be given during the session. Attendees are asked watch a pre-recorded overview of the CPA program before attending the session.
Jul 18	12:00pm – 1:00pm	The Value of the CPA Designation Globally	Online	Want a career that provides the freedom to live and work almost anywhere in the world? The CPA designation is a globally recognized credential with reciprocity agreements with a number of accounting bodies worldwide. Hear from three panelists on how they used their CPA designation to travel and continue their life journeys in Canada and abroad.
Jul 20	12:00pm – 1:00pm	CPABC How to Series ‘find the right employer for you’	Online	Job seekers, whether it’s your first job or at the senior level in your career, should seek to align your career goals with the “right” employer for you. Join us in an interactive live webinar where you will learn the questions to ask and criteria to set for yourselves when seeking to find the “right” employer for you. Along with the CPABC presentation, we will hear from special guest CPAs who will share their own personal experiences, and the criteria and tools they used, when asking themselves these questions and how they used that to navigate and guide their own career path.

In this interactive event, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the admission requirements of the CPA program, how to apply, and any additional questions you may have about the program. This event is suitable for persons who have already attended a CPABC Information Session.
Jun 27	5:30pm – 7:00pm	Online CPABC Accounting Night in Canada	Online	Learn how to transfer your international education and work experience (accounting/finance) to get the CPA designation. This free information session will explain the admission requirements and the structure of the CPA program, and how you can access financial assistance, free mentorship and career counselling services from BC settlement agencies to help you attain your goals in becoming a CPA.
Jun 29	5:00pm – 5:45pm	Conversation with a CPA	Online	Are you curious about what CPAs actually do? If yes, join this short 45-minute conversation and listen to a real-life CPA and learn about what accountants do and where they work. You will then have an opportunity to ask your own questions about a career in accounting. Featured speaker: Ashay Gupta, CPA, Manager of Capital Budgets, Financial Planning & Analysis at City of Vancouver.

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask your own questions and network with our CPA panelists and other aspiring CPAs.
May 18	12:00pm – 12:45pm	Post-Secondary CPABC Information Session	Online	Are you a post-secondary student interested in becoming a CPA after you graduate? This session will cover the CPA program in detail and include an open Q&A with CPABC’s Senior Student Recruitment Officer. This session will be tailored to post-secondary students interested in becoming a CPA, and is open to students from any university or college program.
May 25	5:30pm – 6:30pm	CPABC Network Series featuring TELUS	Online	Learn about the various accounting and finance related employment opportunities available at TELUS and what makes them a great employer! In this interactive panel and networking event, we will hear from TELUS guest speakers on how to start and grow your accounting career path at TELUS, financial supports towards the CPA program, mentorship and work culture within TELUS.

How do you say this in a receptive manner to work in your favor in negotiations with potential or current employers to increase your package, benefit and/or salary? This event includes open questions and answers from audience, and all audience members will learn the tools and techniques to help them navigate through their own negotiations, and how to eloquently “say it in the right way”.

Presented by Sheila Cheung, BA, RISIA, Student Recruitment Officer, this free information session will explain the admission requirements and the structure of the CPA program, permit requirements when enrolled in the CPA program, and how to start your pathway in becoming a CPA. Many internationals enrolled in the CPA program may have long term goals to obtain permanent resident status in Canada. Special guest speaker, Sanam Kashfi, RCIC, will present on the immigration services available through Kashfi Immigration. This webinar includes live Q&A from the audience.
