TELUS is hosting an summer office tour for top university accounting graduates and co-op students looking to join the TELUS Pre-Approved CPA Program in 2019! The TELUS Pre-Approved CPA Program is a three-year rotational program and an approved pathway to obtaining a CPA designation, exposing top university graduates/students to areas such as corporate accounting, internal audit, treasury, and many more.

DAP students are invited to attend the summer office tour in our Vancouver head office to gain a glimpse into the TELUS workstyles and learn more about the Pre-Approved CPA program.

One of the Lower Mainland’s largest mid-sized accounting firms, Manning Elliott LLP, will be hosting a signature social event this summer titled “Life at Manning Elliott”.

The when and where
The event will be taking place on Thursday, July 19th from 4:30pm to 7:00pm in the Plaza Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, located at 655 Burrard Street, Vancouver.

What to expect and who should attend
The event was created to give you a chance to learn more about the firm, their work culture, practice areas and people. Check-in for the event will take place from 4:30pm to 5:00pm, followed by a presentation by the Manning Elliott team. After the presentation, you will have a chance to network with representatives from students to senior accountants, and from managers to partners, and HR.

*This invitation is open to 3rd and 4th year students only and are looking for a full-time position in January 2019 or September 2019, or Co-op position in January 2019 or May 2019.*

External Event | Undercover CPA – Get the Smythe Exclusive – Office Tours on July 23, 25 and 30

Smythe LLP will be hosting office tours in their downtown location for prospective articling students on July 23, 25 and 30 from 2:00 – 4:00pm. During this two-hour session, you will have an opportunity to network with Smythe representatives, tour the office, and partake in a Q&A session with managers and partners.

Join them to learn more about the articling experience, firm culture, community involvement and international affiliations.

Smythe welcomes students interested in summer, co-op and full-time positions.

Please complete this survey by July 3.

Reminder – CPA Recruit Networking Workshop – June 6th, 4:30 pm

As a reminder, DAP and the Sauder Business Career Centre (BCC) will be holding a joint CPA Recruit Networking workshop next Wednesday, June 6th, 4:30 pm to 6:15 pm.

Networking is the first act of the CPA Recruiting experience. Although you may do extensive research and plan your entire approach to your firms of choice, the personal interaction you have with firm representatives and employees could be the single greatest contributor to your success in landing the position you are hoping for. This workshop will focus on the importance of networking with confidence whether independently or during organized events. You will discover strategies to stand out and make an impact while building and maintaining these relationships through follow up and in-person information meetings. Networking, although uncomfortable for some, is a learned skill that could increase your chances of career success.

Registration for this workshop will be open on COOL until June 5th.
