Seeking Applicants for the CFA Vancouver Research Challenge 2019-2020 – Applications Due October 3rd, 2019

UBC Sauder is looking for 4th year and DAP students who are interested in participating in the CFA Vancouver Research Challenge.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual, global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students work in teams of three to five students to research and analyze a local publicly traded company and then write a research report on their assigned company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. The company for this year’s Challenge is still to be announced. Student teams must also present their recommendation at the local society competition. The CFA Vancouver Challenge will occur on Feb 28, 2020. All team members must be available to compete on that day.

Application Deadline Extended to Monday, October 21st for 2019W DAP Scholarships and Awards (Awards of $2300 & $1000 Available)

The application deadline for the following 2019 Winter Session scholarships has been extended to Monday, October 21st.

  • 01500 BDO CANADA LLP Service Award
    A service award of $2300 has been endowed by BDO Canada LLP to recognize a student in the Diploma in Accounting Program (DAP). The award is made on the recommendation of the Sauder School of Business to a part-time or full-time student who is enrolled in the DAP Program and demonstrates high levels of community service and volunteerism within the university or community. Award candidates must also demonstrate high academic standing in the DAP Program.
  • 01661 Chartered Accountants Education Foundation Jim Miller D.A.P. Scholarship
    Two scholarships of $1000 each are offered to students enrolled in the Diploma in Accounting Program at the Sauder School of Business. They are awarded on the recommendation of the School to students with high academic standing and leadership ability who intend to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Reminder | Welcome Back Meet & Greet on September 4th, 5:30 pm

Join the DAP team and your classmates at our Start of Term Meet & Greet on Wednesday, September 4th (you can drop by anytime between 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm – it’s not necessary to be there for the entire hour).

We’ll be serving a selection of Subway sandwiches and all DAP students enrolled in Winter Term 1 are welcome to attend. If you will be attending, please complete this RSVP form by September 2nd so we have an idea of how many students to expect and allow us to place our order accordingly.
