Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Workshop for International Students – November 28th, 4:30 pm

If you are an international student in DAP and would like to learn more about the Post-Graduation Work Permit, attend UBC International Student Development’s PGWP workshop on November 28th, 4:30 pm, held exclusively for DAP students.

This session will highlight the benefits of the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) as you consider your options to further your studies, work in Canada or apply for permanent residence. You will learn about timelines to apply for the PGWP, eligibility requirements, how to prepare your application, and what you need to know if you have family members in Canada too. The workshop reflects the recent changes to the Post-Graduation Work Permit program.

UBC International Student Development Welcome Event: Tools for success as a UBC international student – September 5th and 12th

UBC International Student Advising will be holding Late Start International Welcome, an interactive session on how to unlock the benefits of your study permit, understand what you need to work in Canada, and make the best use of your health insurance plans. You’ll take away a series of tools that you can use in your first year and beyond.  

The following dates are available:

  • Thursday, Sept 5, 2019, 12:00-1:30pm
  • Thursday, Sept 12, 2019, 4:00-5:30pm

Both sessions will be hosted in Room 1501 at the UBC Life Building, 6138 Student Union Boulevard. No registration is required to attend.

Reminder – Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Workshop for International Students – April 4th, 4:30 pm

As a reminder, UBC International Student Advising will be hosting a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) workshop, specifically for international students enrolled in DAP on Thursday, April 4th. Whether you’ve just started the program or are in your last term, you are encouraged to attend this workshop to learn more about the PGWP, including:

  • Introduction to post-graduation work permit program
  • Working after completing your program
  • How to apply
  • Required documents and cost
  • Tips to consider

This session will include an review of the updated policies shared by IRCC on February 14, 2019 for the PGWP program.
